Around 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday shots were fired at the Farmers and Merchants Bank in Mantachi. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is now on the case.

Warren Strain with the MBI confirmed that two women are dead after one woman entered the bank and shot the other.

64 year-old Judy Guin was the bank teller. Police have identified Ashlee Smith as the suspected shooter.

Strain said there is no evidence that she took anything from the bank before leaving.

Smith then left the bank in a vehicle that was followed by law enforcement. Eventually she pulled over and died after a self inflicted gunshot wound.

This is an open investigation. News Mississippi will continue to update as more details emerge.
