The Mississippi Blood Services are in a severe shortage this summer and are asking for your help by donating blood and or platelets.
The Mississippi Blood Services is the sole supplier of blood to the Jackson Metro area and they are running scary low on supply.
“We are in critical need of O negative and B negative blood as well as platelets, so anyone who could come out and help ups with that would be great,” said Emily Austin, Marketing and Communications Manager with the organization.
You must be at least 16 years of age, with parental consent, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health in order to donate.

It will take about an hour to donate but one donation of blood can save up to three lives.
