Mississippi County Makes it Illegal to Sell Caffeine Pills to Those 18 or Younger

OXFORD, Miss. – Starting September 1, you’ll have to be 19 or older to buy caffeine pills and powders in Lafayette County.

A first offence for selling to those 18 years or younger will by $50, $75 for a second offence and a $150 fine for subsequent violations.

Businesses will soon be issued placards for them to put in their stores, so that their customers will be notified of the new ordinance.

In September 2014 Water Valley teen Noah Smith died from an accident overdose on Caffeine pills and powders.
