Mississippi News Briefs: Gator Hunting Set, Couple Robbed by Three Guys With Guns

JACKSON, Miss.–Here are some stories from around your state, and if you like gator meat and you have a gun, you may want to put your name in the hat:

GATORS
Gator hunting in Mississippi. The season is Aug. 29 to Sept. 8 and you’ve got just a few days to get your name in the hat. You have to visit the Dept. of Wildlife Fisheries and Parks website June 2 to 9.

ROBBED AT THE HO– USE
Imagine you pull into your driveway and when you get out of the car, three guys with guns are waiting on you. That happened to a husband and wife in Madison Monday. The robbers got the cell phone, cash and cards, but cops were able to arrest one of them Tuesday. The man says he thinks they got his address from his car, stolen last month.

GAS
Gas down just a little bit. You’re paying $3.44 on average in the state today.

INTERSTATE TOLLS

How would you like to have to pay a toll just to drive the interstate? Well, Mississippi could soon have the freedom to put up toll booths if a proposal by the Obama administration gets through Congress. It would end the 60-year ban on interstate tolls. The money for the national highway trust fund is running out and tolls are a direct line to your wallet to get that money back.

MARION CO MURDER
You can help catch whoever killed Kadarius Todd, just 17, shot several times Sunday night in Marion Co. The sheriff says if you know anything about it, call his office.

TEEN KILLED Todd
Wearing your seatbelt, so important. TA high school senior in George County will not be walking with his class. The wreck near Lucedale killed 18-year-old Joseph Foster Tuesday afternoon. He was not wearing his seat belt. News Miss. affiliate WOSM reported MHP was investigating the accident.
