Mississippi weekend: chili, king of pop, Halloween carnival

Here’s a look at what’s happening across the state this weekend.

In North Mississippi, head on over to Tupelo for the Chili fest. Gates will officially open at 5 p.m. on Friday and $10 lets anyone try all the chili they can stand and lets them vote for the “Crowd Favorite” award

In Clarksdale, mosey on over to the Grammy museum for Pop Family Day.  Families can check out their current temporary display celebrating the musical legacy of Michael Jackson and dress up in Michael Jackson style as everyone celebrates the King of Pop. The Delta arts alliance will be leading art activities and they will have a dance workshop with David Mullen. Costumes are encouraged for everyone that comes.

On the coast, get spooky in Biloxi with a Halloween Carnival. Nativity BVM Elementary School will hold its 59th Annual Halloween Carnival from 1 p.m. – 9 p.m. on Saturday.

This years carnival will include a Silent Auction, a Haunted House, Live Entertainment, a Costume Contest, Food and Drink Booths, a Photo Booth and Class Sponsored Game/Activity Booths.
