STARKVILLE, Miss.–Southern is preparing to take on the Bulldogs as they travel to StarkVegas for each team’s season opener Saturday. The teams will play at Davis Wade Stadium. Kickoff is at 6:30 and you can watch it on SECN.
“It’s gonna be interesting to see what Monken’s plan is to move the football against a Mississippi State defense that has 22 guys that are ready to roll,” said Pete Roussell, with Sports 24/7.
“I think Southern Miss has their hands full,” Roussell told Head to Head Radio.
Southern comes in as the clear underdog, with several losing seasons. Coach Todd Monken starts his second year with a new offensive coordinator.
MSU hasn’t tangled with Southern Miss since 1990.
