While the majority of recruits signed with their respective schools during the early signing period back in December, today is National Signing Day, and Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Southern Miss will sure up their 2019 recruiting classes.

  • Ole Miss:

One of the cornerstones of the Rebels’ class, 4-star WR Jonathan Mingo from Brandon, chose not to sign back in December, leaving the door open for a possible flip. Mingo put that talk to rest this morning by sending his letter of intent to Oxford. With A.J. Brown, D.K. Metcalf and DeMarkus Lodge headed to the NFL, Mingo will make an immediate impact.

It’s no secret that the Rebels need help on defense, and today, they were able to get 3-star DT LeDarrius Cox to flip his commitment from Tennessee to Ole Miss.

The Rebels continue to focus on defensive depth today as they’ve added 3-star DE Brandon Mack.

5-star RB Jerrion Ealy from Jackson Prep has re-committed to Ole Miss. The dynamic back recently decommitted from the Rebels, and many thought he was headed to either Clemson or Alabama, but he has decided to stay in state. The question now becomes, will he actually play college football? Ealy is projected to be a top pick in the upcoming MLB Draft.

The Rebels finished their day up by signing a highly-recruited JUCO LB, a QB that flipped from UGA to Ole Miss yesterday.

4-star LB Lakia Henry – Dodge City CC – 6’0/225 lbs.

4-star QB John Rhys Plumlee – Hattiesburg, MS – 6’1/185 lbs.

  • Mississippi State:
  • Just like Mingo at Ole Miss, 4-star DT Nathan Pickering made the Bulldogs wait until NSD before he put pen to paper. After MSU lost DL coach Brian Baker, some wondered if the 5th-ranked player in the state would sign elsewhere, but he’ll honor his commitment and attempt to fill the shoes of Jeffrey Simmons on the Bulldog defensive line.

4-star DT Nathan Pickering – Seminary, MS – 63/285 lbs.

The Bulldogs were also able to secure the commitment of WR JaVonta Payton, a JUCO transfer, who could emerge as a weapon for an MSU offense in need of playmakers on the outside.

Mid-way through the day, Mississippi State has added two players to their defensive backfield, and an offensive lineman.

3-star CB Martin Emerson Jr. – Pensacola, FL – 6’2/185 lbs.

    3-star S Collin Duncan – Montgomery, AL – 6’0/190 lbs.

3-star OT Brandon Cunningham – Ocean Springs, MS – 6’5/300 lbs.

The Bulldogs have added a JUCO transfer at RB and another DB.

3-star RB Kareem Walker – Fort Scott CC – 6’1/220 lbs.

3-star DB Dylan Lawerence – Lucedale, MS – 6’4/195 lbs.

    • Southern Miss:

    2-star K Andrew Stein – Slidell, LA – 5’9/165 lbs.
