Ole Miss student dies in China

OXFORD, Miss.- A student at the University of Mississippi died in China on Saturday. According to the Daily Mississippian, Winter Park Florida native Frank Anderson, 22, died in Shanghai, China on October 1st. He was finishing his Capstone Year in China and studying at Nanjing University.

The university released a statement following this tragedy.
“The entire Ole Miss community is heartbroken over the unexpected death of Frank Anderson, one of our finest and most dedicated students,” said Donald Dyer, chair of modern languages at the university and co-director of the UM Chinese Language Flagship Program. “We offer our deepest sympathy to Frank’s family, friends and fellow students.”

UM officials confirm they are assisting members of Anderson’s family during this tragic time. UM will share details regarding arrangements and services as this information becomes available.
