Saving Visits focus of Visitors

JACKSON, Miss. — The fight to keep conjugal visits for state inmates will be taken to the streets later this month.

A Memphis-based civil rights group and the Mississippi Advocates for Prisoners have planned a rally for January 17 in downtown Jackson.  The groups have also started a petition drive.  Mississippi Department of Corrections Commissioner Chris Epps said last year that he would end conjugal visits for inmates by the end of this month.
