Sex Crime Against A Vulnerable Person Lands Miss. Man in Prison

TUPELO, Miss.–A person in a nursing home was sexually assaulted and now there’s justice. The man who did it is going to prison for six years and six months.

Larry Joe Hester, 61, of Lee County, was given the sentence Thursday. He was also ordered to pay a $1,000 fine.

He pleaded guilty to the crime.

There were few details being released about the case and News Mississippi does not identify victims of sex crimes. Court records show Hester was originally arrested in February 2012.

A news release from the attorney general’s office, whose Medicaid Fraud Division prosecuted the case, said the victim was a vulnerable adult who was confined to a bed at an assisted living facility in Lee County.
