Special election for Delta House seat heads to runoff

In a special election on Tuesday, four candidates were in the running to succeed former Representative Robert Huddleston of Sumner who served in the House since 1996.

District 30 encompasses the Mississippi Delta and covers parts of Bolivar, Quitman, Sunflower, and Tallahatchie Counties.

Unofficial voting results from Boliver, Quitman, Sunflower, and Tallahatchie Counties clerks offices show that Blake Ferretti received 43.14% of the vote, and William McClellan received 13.22% of the vote, while Tracey Rosebud received 22.29% of the vote and Lester Williams received 21.33% of the vote.

Since no candidate received over 50% of the vote, a runoff between Blake Ferretti and Tracey Rosebud will be held on May 29th.
