Students from both universities will team up with Special Olympics Mississippi athletes in a flag football game at the MSU Rec Plex Intramural Fields, located off Stone Boulevard. The event will begin with performances from MSU spirit squads, the Famous Maroon Band and Bully at 6 p.m. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. Admission to the game is free.

The Unified Division combines Special Olympics athletes and athletes without intellectual disabilities on teams where they compete and promote ideals of acceptance and inclusion. The Unified Sports Egg Bowl was started in 2014 as a way to build on the excitement surrounding the annual football game between MSU and Ole Miss for a worthy cause. The game has helped raise thousands of dollars for Special Olympics Mississippi which provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in various Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
