Starkville Murder and Kidnapping Suspect Back in Mississippi

STARKVILLE, Miss. – The woman arrested in connection to a weekend murder and kidnapping in Oktibbeha County has been formally charged with accessory after the fact to capital murder.

Tessa Weeks, 36, was taken into custody by Wayne County, Tennessee authorities Saturday following the shooting death of James Chandler of Starkville and the kidnapping of a woman at Chandler’s home.  The woman managed to escape and call police.

Investigators said Terrance Grayer of Starkville was the mastermind behind the murder and kidnapping.  He was found dead in Tennessee of what authorities believe to be a self-inflicted gunshot.

Weeks, who was extradited back to Mississippi, is currently free from the Oktibbeha County jail on a $20,000 bond.
