Students Charged After Sweep, Bomb Found at Warren Central Jr. High

WARREN COUNTY, MISS– Following a school evacuation and finding a bomb at Warren Central Jr. High, two students are in hot water with the youth court.

A small device was found in a book bag when the school was swept. That device was removed by a robot and blown up, says Captain Williams with the Vicksburg Police Department. In that sweep, one student was found to have a knife hidden in a pocket. Another was found with that explosive and a knife.

After getting a warrant and searching the students home, all of the products needed to make that bomb were found there. The student with the knife in his pocket is not connected to the bomb, police say.

Both students are headed to youth court. One for having a weapon (knife) on school property, the other for having a weapon on school property as well as an explosive.
