OXFORD, Miss.–An announcement on who may be the next chancellor of the University of Mississippi may come today at 2 on the Ole Miss campus. One state IHL Board member told media that there will be “an important announcement up in Oxford”.
An “emergency” meeting of the state college board was held at 8 a.m. in Jackson. After a brief executive session, the meeting was adjourned.
“There were some I guess some negotiations and conversations that needed to take place more than anything,” said Dr. Glenn Boyce, college board president.
The board president later revised his statement and said there were important conversations happening.
