Trial Delayed for Copiah County Woman Charged With Embezzlement

Linda Reed

COPIAH COUNTY, Miss. — The Copiah County Grandma accused of stealing money from her job won’t go to trial this week.

Linda Reed is changed with three counts of embezzlement.  Investigators say she took more than $20,000 from the petty cash fund at Moore’s Fabrications in Gallman, while working there as a bookkeeper, and then skipped town.  Reed was found working in Texas under her real name.  Her attorney says just because she disappeared doesn’t mean she’s guilty.  Her trial was set to start Tuesday.  It has been delayed with a hearing now set for later this week.
