Triple shooting in Jackson marks 44th homicide for capital city

Officers of the Jackson Police Department responded to the scene of a triple shooting Sunday afternoon at the Pine Gardens apartments.

Upon arriving at the scene officers found one man dead and two other men shot.

Both men were transported to the hospital their conditions are currently unknown.

JPD has identified the victim as 30-year-old Kendrick Hughes.

The Jackson Police Department said the person suspected of the triple shooting is a black male and was last seen in all black clothing wearing a white “Jason” mask.

JPD said the motive of the shooting is unknown at this time.

This shooting marks the 44th homicide of 2017.
