Wait for College Board’s High Stakes #DanDecision Continues

A contract decision for Ole Miss Chancellor Dan Jones remains unknown Friday and all signs point to  negotiations that could go through the weekend.

College Board members, before the start of an emergency meeting at their Jackson headquarters, said they were there to discuss an  Ole Miss personnel matter.   Almost immediately it was agreed to go into executive session for private talks. Board President Aubrey Patterson, before closing the doors on reporters, said that there would be no  public statement once the meeting ended.
Only three members were actually inside the board room. All of the others, excluding CD Smith, were taking part by way of a conference phone call.

Commissioner of Higher Learning Jim Borsig did talk with media afterword’s, but only to say:  “We are not going to discuss this with the press as long as discussions are ongoing.”

Dan Jones had said earlier Friday that he was still negotiating for a contract and that he did not expect the board’s decision for at least a few more days.
