Week 3 NCAA football in Mississippi

Things are heating up for week three of college football in Mississippi.

MSU
The 2-0 MSU Bulldogs head to Death Valley to face their first SEC opponent this season. LSU’s stout defensive corps could eat up MSU quarterback Nick Fitzgerald and the Bulldogs’ running game, and if State can’t get some of their own defensive mojo going, it may be a long night. Kick at 6 pm.

Ole Miss
The Ole Miss Rebels have been adjusting to the west coast before they take on the Cal Bears for their first real test this season. The match up is likely to be an air raid as both defenses continue to scramble for cohesion, but if interim head coach Matt Luke can’t fire up the run game, it may not matter how many completions Shae Patterson can make. Kick at 9:30 pm.

USM
Fourty-two freshmen on the USM football team means some serious depth, but not a lot of experience as the 1-1 Golden Eagles head to Louisiana Monroe this weekend. The USM coaching staff has to play a delicate balance with getting some exposure for talented young players, while also harnessing the strengths of their veterans on both sides of the ball. Kick at 6 pm.
