Weekday weather rundown: 2-23-18

Here’s a quick rundown of the weather across the state today.

In north Mississippi, there is a flood watch in effect through late Saturday night. Today, expect warmer temperatures with mostly cloudy skies and a chance of showers in the morning. There will be a slight chance of thunderstorms during the day and continuing into the afternoon. Highs will be in the upper 70s and tonight, cloudy skies with a chance of showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms. Lows will be in the lower to mid-60s.

In central Mississippi, mostly cloudy today with a chance of showers during the day. There is a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon as well. Highs will be in the lower 80s and in the evening, mostly cloudy skies with a chance of showers in the evening, as well as, a slight chance of thunderstorms during the night. There will also be a chance of light rain after midnight. Lows will be in the mid to upper 60s.

In south Mississippi, mostly cloudy today with some patchy fog and a chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. Highs will be in the upper 70s. At night, mostly cloudy with more patchy fog and a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows are expected to be in the mid to upper 60s.
