BRAXTON, MISS- A deputy and a burglary suspect are shot, and another man is in custody after a shootout this afternoon.
An unnamed Simpson County Sheriff’s deputy was shot when he responded to a break-in happening in Braxton.
The deputy is fine and has since been released from the hospital.
Christopher Blackwell was shot and flown to UMMC. Austin Matthew McGrew, was taken to the lockup.
Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is looking into it.
