A train crash in north Mississippi has caused two deaths and left three others seriously injured.

The crash occurred on Tuesday afternoon when a train collided with a minivan near North Red Banks Road. The crash resulted in the deaths of 27-year-olds Charity Mull and Brandon Mosley, both of Memphis.

Major Kelly McMillen with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office stated that they are in contact with the train operator, BNSF Railway, as they attempt to piece together what happened. The train is outfitted with a dash cam that will likely show if the van was stopped on the tracks, or if the driver came onto the track as the train approached.

McMillen also noted that the other 3 passengers in the van were taken to a local hospital, and remain in critical condition.
