College Football: State and Ole Miss With Non-Conference Wins; DSU Back to Winning Ways

OXFORD, Miss.–Homecoming weekend in Oxford saw Ole Miss hosting New Mexico State and after last week’s loss to Florida, the Rebs proved their game is still spot on in a non-conference blast of the Aggies, 52-3.

For Mississippi State, it was a non-conference game. The Bulldogs took Troy State , beating the Trojans 34-17. Next week the Dawgs go after Louisiana Tech.

Delta State was back to its winning ways Saturday as the Statesmen traveled to Rome, Georgia to beat Shorter 38-17. Next week another Georgia school comes to Cleveland, Univ. of West Georgia.

For Southern, it was a Friday night loss to Marshall in West Virginia, 31-10. Next week USM takes on Texas-San Antonio.

Both Jackson State and Alcorn had the week off.

Mississippi Valley State continued a season-long losing streak, with a 45-8 loss to Prairie View.
