Detour On the Way to Arkansas: Car Chase in Miss. Lands Man in Jail

WILKINSON COUNTY, Miss.–Just why these guys decided to run from the highway patrol, it wasn’t quite clear when the driver was arrested Thursday, but he had four other people with him and hitting the gas when the blue lights came on was not the best decision.

Brandon Rhodes was charged with felony fleeing and other violations after MHP tried to pull him over on Hwy. 61 about 4 p.m., just south of Woodville.

He didn’t stop and actually went several miles before the car stopped and three of the five people inside bailed and took off running. Destinee Rhodes got hurt and had to go to the hospital.

Meanwhile, the car took off again and finally stopped on a county road. A tip led troopers to it and they searched the area, where they eventually found the last passenger and Brandon Rhodes.

Just why they ran was not obvious. The five had been on a cruise that docked in New Orleans, and were headed back to Arkansas.

Rhodes, at least, is making a detour in the Wilkinson County lockup.
