Madison County Courthouse Shooting: Bond Set for Shooter

MADISON COUNTY– Bond has been set for William Wells, 34, the man who turned himself as the shooter outside the Madison County Courthouse in Canton Monday.

Kendrick Brown died in that shooting.

Police say Wells shot Brown because Wells’ mother had recently been shot. Brown was seeing the judge on cocaine charges. Bond was set over a remote television conference.

Brown died in front of the courthouse after being shot in the chest. Witnesses say they saw Wells shoot Brown, set down his gun, and put his hands up in surrender.
