Motorcyclist’s Body Found in Lake Caroline after Wreck

MADISON, Miss.- A motorcyclist’s body was pulled from Lake Caroline Wednesday after he crashed into a guardrail.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Department received a call around 4:22 a.m. that there had been a motorcycle wreck near Lake Caroline.

Once deputies responded to the call, they found the motorcycle, but could not find the driver.

Madison County’s Chief Deputy Jeremy Williams said, “I walked along the road and the dam of Lake Caroline when the debris near there made me believe that the driver may be in the water.”

That’s when authorities called for extra assistance to find the man. Madison County Dive Team, Ridgeland’s and Madison’s Fire Department, Madison County Sheriff’s Department and Mississippi Wildlife Fisheries and Parks all contributed to the search.

Divers recovered the body Wednesday afternoon around 12:30 p.m. The man was identified as 27-year-old Michael Pait Hendrix, of Madison.

The accident is currently still under investigation.
