STARKVILLE, Miss.–A Maroon Alert was sent out on Twitter Wednesday, putting Mississippi State students on high alert for a while after a shooting in Starkville near the MSU campus. Starkville police are now looking for three black men for the shooting.

No shots were fired on the campus, stressed Tweets from the school.

A later Tweet read:

MSU is changing our Maroon Alert status from Emergency to Advisory. Students, faculty, staff urged to remain safety aware.

Starkville Police said the incident happened near Camelot Apartments and the car they were chasing ended up stopping near Hwy. 12 at the Haven Apartments, where the three guys bailed and ran. A woman driving the car was arrested.
