The first suspect in the Kingston Frazier murder case has been sentenced.
D’Allen Washington pled guilty to accessory after the fact to kidnapping earlier this year, and he has now been sentenced to serve 15 years in prison for his role in the murder of 6-year-old Kingston Frazier.
The child was left in the backseat of his mother’s running vehicle in the parking lot of a Jackson Kroger back in May 2017. The car was stolen, and hours later, Frazier’s body was found in the backseat after the car had been abandoned in Gluckstadt.
As part of a plea deal, Washington has agreed to testify against his two co-defendants in the case; Dwan Wakefield and suspected shooter Byron McBride.
“He has agreed to cooperate with law enforcement and with our office in the prosecution of the other defendants. He did give a statement under oath regarding not only his involvement, but also the involvement of his co-defendants. We believe his cooperation in this case will help as we go forward and seek the death penalty against Mr. McBride,” District Attorney Michael Guest said back in February.
McBride, who was 19 at the time, has been charged with Capital Murder, and his trial date will be set after he undergoes a psychological evaluation.
Washington and Wakefield were 17 at the time of the murder, but both were charged as adults in the case. Wakefield faces charges for accessory after the fact to murder, kidnapping, and motor vehicle theft, and he is set to be sentenced in October.
