NORTH MISSISSIPPI- Authorities have confirmed a phone scam happening in North Mississippi.
Callers are claiming to be with the Mississippi Public Service Commissioner’s office. They tell their victims that they’ve been awarded a large amount of money and only need a small fee of $750 to claim it.
The actual Commissioner, Brandon Presley, says this whole this is bogus. He says the PSC would never make claims like this and for crooks to use the organizations good name in this way is despicable.
They are working hard to track down who is responsible for this.
