Temperatures Going Down Headed Into the Weekend

JACKSON, Miss.–You’re going to want to grab the jacket if you’re headed out in the early morning or late evenings over the next few days.

A dry, cold front has been making its way through Mississippi.

“That’s going to bring temperatures on Thursday and Friday night down into the mid to low-30’s for north and central Mississippi,” said National Weather Service Meteorologist Jared Allen.

Those numbers are about 10 to 15 degrees lower than what the state averages for this time of the year.

“On Saturday night it’s going to get even colder in some places though, ” he said. “It could get down to 29 degrees in far north Mississippi like in Benton or Tishomingo County.”

Make sure to bring any plants inside that could die in the cold and check on the pets to see if they have enough bedding if they stay outside.
