Third Escaped Inmate Captured in Jackson

JACKSON, Miss.- The last of three escaped inmates from the downtown Jackson Jail has been captured and is back behind bars.

Sheriff Tyrone Lewis told WAPT TV, William Smith, 17, was found Thursday hiding in a closet inside a home in south Jackson.

The other men that escaped, Antwan Dukes, 16, and Jerome Moore, 18, were captured Sunday, shortly after the three guys escaped from a second-floor window.

Police said the men used electrical wires to burn the plexiglass window and escape.

Metal plates are being installed over the windows.
