Attorney General Lynn Fitch announced that anti-human trafficking initiative Operation Stark Reality was a success.
Operation Stark Reality was carried out on June 25 in Starkville and led to three adult victims and one child being rescued from human traffickers, as well as one arrest. As a part of Fitch’s ongoing mission to crack down on human trafficking in Mississippi, her operation has resulted in 205 arrests and nearly 400 victims recovered.
“We are committed to building a network of law enforcement across Mississippi trained in the best techniques for disrupting human trafficking operations and helping victims start the road to recovery,” Fitch said. “Mississippi is leading the nation in our approach to taking down predators and giving victims a chance to start over without shame or blame.”
The operation was a joint effort by six local and national law enforcement agencies, including the FBI and the Starkville Police Department.
In addition, Transformation Garden and the Mississippi Coalation Against Human Trafficking provided treatment and help to the recovered victims in Starkville.
