UPDATE: Pontotoc County Coroner Kim Bedford has identified the victim as 55-year-old James Dean. According to Bedford, the storm hit Dean’s mobile home.

Exactly one week after a series of tornadoes left 21 dead in Mississippi, another round of severe weather struck the state last night.

According to the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency, the storms in Pontotoc County resulted in one fatality and four injuries with numbers subject to change.

Those impacted are encouraged to report any home or property damage to MEMA through the agency’s self-report tool which is used to conduct damage assessments.

MEMA also reminds people that the tool is not a 911 service or an application for financial assistance.
