1,275 new COVID-19 cases reported across Mississippi

The COVID-19 omicron variant is continuing to cycle through Mississippi.

On Friday, the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) confirmed 1,275 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the state’s total number of cases up to 875,132. With 18 additional deaths, 12,648 Mississippians have now passed away due to the virus. In addition, there are currently 222 ongoing outbreaks in long-term care facilities.

Mississippi is averaging 1,333 daily cases over the last week. As of Monday, 1,555,540 Mississippi residents were fully vaccinated.
