1,507 new COVID-19 cases reported across Mississippi

On Thursday, the Mississippi State Department of Health confirmed 1,507 new cases of COVID-19.

The update brings the state’s total number of recorded cases since the onset of the pandemic to 892,291. With one additional death, 12,720 Mississippians have now passed away as a result of the virus. Additionally, there are currently 187 ongoing outbreaks in long-term care facilities.

Mississippi is currently averaging 1,209 daily cases, a 9% decrease from two weeks ago. As of Monday, 1,557,781 Mississippians were fully vaccinated.
