On Wednesday, the Mississippi State Department of Health confirmed 1,571 new cases of COVID-19.
The update brings the state’s total number of recorded cases since the onset of the pandemic to 890,784. With one additional death, 12,715 Mississippians have now passed away as a result of the virus. Additionally, there are currently 189 ongoing outbreaks in long-term care facilities.
Mississippi is currently averaging 1,208 daily cases, a 13% decrease from two weeks ago. As of Monday, 1,557,781 Mississippians were fully vaccinated.
