1,639 new COVID-19 cases reported across Mississippi

On Thursday, the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) confirmed 1,639 new cases of COVID-19.

The update brings the state’s total number of recorded cases since the onset of the pandemic to 899,354. With one additional death, 12,751 Mississippians have now passed away as a result of the virus. Additionally, there are currently 176 ongoing outbreaks in long-term care facilities.

Mississippi is currently averaging 1,215 daily cases. As of Monday, 1,560,456 Mississippians were fully vaccinated.
