An arrest has been made after an 18-year-old was shot and killed at a Mississippi state park.
According to WAPT, the shooting took place Sunday evening at Roosevelt State Park and took the life of Jetavion Markenyus Johnson. Law enforcement confirmed that another 18-year-old, Anthony Boyd, is suspected of pulling the trigger after he and Johnson got into an argument.
Officers with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks told the Jackson-based TV station that they responded to an altercation around 5:15 p.m. at the Alfredo Harris Lodge inside the park. Upon arriving to what was confirmed to be a gender reveal party, they discovered Johnson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds near the pool area of the lodge.

Johnson, who lived in Newton, was transported to Scott Regional Hospital in Morton. He later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation remains open.
