Two men are behind bars after one person died and multiple were injured during a boat collision along the Ross Barnett Reservoir.
Authorities report that Nelson Jimenez, 22, and Nathan Rhinewalt, 21, are charged with boating under the influence connected to the collision. The wreck is reported to have happened near Highway 43 between Pipeline Road and Ratliff Ferry Road on Sunday around 1 a.m. and involved two boats.
The deceased has been identified as 23-year-old Madison Alford. Four others were transported to a local hospital for medical care and two suffered minor injuries, according to officials.
Both Jimenez and Rhinewalt are being held in the Rankin County Detention Center. Each was given a bond of $100,000
