Two suspects are in custody and have had bonds set after an 18-wheeler driver was shot in Jackson earlier this month.
The Jackson Police Department announced Tuesday that it worked with the Grand Prairie Police Department in Texas to locate Alejandro Macedo, 32, and Omar Nerio, 32. Both have been charged with aggravated assault and shooting into an occupied vehicle.
On Feb. 10 at approximately 6 p.m., JPD received a report that an 18-wheeler driver had been shot at by two men in another 18-wheeler. The incident occurred on Interstate 20 near Highway 18.
“As he was attempting to change lanes, the driver of the second 18-wheeler pulled up beside his vehicle, attempting to prevent him from changing lanes,” JPD said its investigation found. “The two drivers got into a dispute after which the passenger of the second truck pointed a weapon and fired several shots into the victims’ truck, striking him once in the shoulder.”
