Two people safely ejected from a military jet that crashed in east Mississippi on Tuesday.
According to the Chief of Naval Air Training’s public affairs office, the jet crashed on private farmland in Noxubee County near Shuqualak around 12:30 p.m. A pair of unidentified personnel assigned to the aircraft safely ejected and were transported to medical care.
Officials say local emergency crews and military first responders arrived at the scene to secure the site. The public is urged to avoid the area at this time.
The aircraft was described as a U.S. Navy T-45C training jet assigned to Training Air Wing One in Meridian. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
