A second arrest has been made in connection with the shooting death of a Humphreys County High School football player.
Belzoni police announced that Jayden Holmes was taken into custody on Wednesday. Though authorities did not announce the charges Holmes faces, he is believed to have been involved in the gunfire that claimed the life of 16-year-old Jakamryn Price, a junior defensive end and tight end on the Cowboys football team.
The other suspect behind bars in this case is Jaronski Watson, who was handcuffed following a Tuesday traffic stop.
Price was killed Aug. 21 on 3rd Street shortly after a football scrimmage wrapped up. Witnesses at the stadium told authorities that they heard two gunshots. Law enforcement officials do not believe the deceased was the intended target.
The investigation into this case remains active, per officials. More arrests could follow.
