Five people are reported to be injured following a weekend shooting at a birthday party in Mississippi’s capital city.

According to the Jackson Police Department, gunfire rang out on Sunday night around 8 p.m. at Mary C. Jones Park on Martin Luther King, Jr., Drive. Authorities confirmed that four gunshot victims, two of whom were minors, were discovered at the location.

All four shooting victims were transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for treatment. The alleged shooter, identified as 19-year-old Zynkia Winford, was also injured during the incident.

Winfield allegedly got into an altercation with one of the partygoers, removed her gun from her purse, and began shooting. She is now charged with four counts of aggravated assault.
