The sharp decline in new COVID-19 cases continues in Mississippi.

Today’s report from the Mississippi State Department of Health includes just 360 new cases, bringing the state’s total up to under 289,892. With the confirmation of 3 additional deaths, 6,534 Mississippians have now passed away from the virus.

Down from a peak of over 1,400 in early January, overall hospitalizations are now below 530.

Most MSDH vaccination sites remain closed today due to the lingering effects of the winter weather with the exception of those in Harrison, Jackson, Forrest, Pike and Lauderdale counties. Those with cancelled appointments will automatically be rescheduled for the same time on a different day and notified by phone, e-mail, or text.
