A pair of announcements this week highlight the creation of new jobs in Mississippi.
New Way Trucks and AITX Railcar Services, LLC each announced expansions this week bringing new jobs to their respective communities.
In addition to their existing operation in Booenville, New Way Trucks, a manufacturer of recycling and garbage trucks, has purchased a new 66,000 square foot space in the area for a $4 million investment that will create 120 jobs. At the original facility, employees manufacture a full line of refuse trucks designed for the collection of residential and commercial solid waste. At the new location, employees will manufacture and fabricate parts and sub-assemblies, as well as conduct research and new product development. The new jobs, to be filled over two years, will be added at both facilities.
With an investment of $23.36 million, AITX Railcar Services will expand its footprint in Brookhaven. Complimenting its operation in Bude by providing light maintenance activities, cleaning and ‘quick turn’ light repair capabilities geared toward expediting railcars back into service, the Brookhaven facility’s expansion will create 75 new jobs.
AITX plans to fill the 75 new jobs within approximately two years of completing the expansion.
