Huntington Ingalls Industries’ Shipbuilding division is looking to hire over 2,000 full-time workers in Pascagoula to aid in developing its future workforce plans.
Ingalls, also known as the largest shipbuilder in the nation, specializes in the construction of amphibious warships, destroyers, and national security cutters at an 800-acre shipbuilding facility.
On Saturday, July 9, the company’s talent acquisition team will be hosting a hiring event from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Ingalls Maritime Training Academy located on Jerry St. Pé Highway.
During the hiring event, the Ingalls team will be searching for individuals who are skilled in trades such as pipe fitters, pipe welders, structural welders, and ship fitters. Those who are not certified in those areas are still invited to apply for entry-level opportunities.
“Shipbuilding is hard work, but we strive to make sure our shipbuilders have the tools and conveniences they need to do the hard work well,” said Susan Jacobs, vice president of human resources and administration.
Some benefits offered by Ingalls to applicants are competitive starting wages, day-one benefits, 12 paid holidays annually, and opportunities for advancement.
