2,001 new COVID-19 cases reported across Mississippi

The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) reported 2,001 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday.

The latest update brings the state’s total number of cases to 864,529. With zero additional deaths, the number of Mississippians who have passed away due to the virus remains at 12,589. Also according to the report, there are currently 215 outbreaks in long-term care facilities.

Mississippi is averaging 1,444 daily cases over the last week. As of Monday, 1,559,790 (52%) of Mississippi residents were fully vaccinated.
