Mississippi-based BankPlus has made a $420,080 donation to Children’s of Mississippi as a result of the company’s check card program.
The BankPlus Friends of Children’s Hospital CheckCard program gives customers an opportunity to financially contribute to the work being done at the medical facility. Customers who choose the special debit card contribute $12 annually, with 100 percent of the proceeds being donated directly to Friends of Children’s Hospital.
BankPlus also matches each $12 donation up to $60,000 per year, further extending their support for the work being done by the staff at the hospital. In addition, a donation of $0.03 is made by BankPlus to Friends of Children’s Hospital each time a Friends debit card is used to make a purchase.
“BankPlus is committed to improving the places where we live and work,” Vice Chairman Bill Ray stated. “We always want to offer our customers more, so it makes sense that the Friends of Children’s Hospital CheckCard program offers our customers a convenient way to give to the children in Mississippi who need it most.”
There are currently more than 14,000 active Children’s of Mississippi debit cards in circulation. Those interested in supporting Mississippi’s lone children’s hospital in this manner can visit any BankPlus office. Every purchase made with the debit card supports healthcare services provided to children in need.
“We are thrilled with how the Friends CheckCard program has grown over the years,” Kristin Allen, chairman of the board of directors for Friends of Children’s Hospital, said. “This program is a shining example of how businesses can find innovative and impactful ways to support the children’s hospital. We extend our deepest gratitude to BankPlus for their extraordinary partnership and unwavering commitment to the well-being of Mississippi’s children.”
BankPlus introduced the Friends of Children’s Hospital CheckCard in November 2011 and has continued to fulfill its commitment to the medical provider.
