Mark your calendars! The Mississippi State Fair will return to Jackson in just under five months.
Officials announced that the extremely popular and highly anticipated event will take place at the fairgrounds from October 2-13, promising family-friendly fun. This year will mark the 166th edition of fair rides, tasty foods, and a myriad of agricultural competitions happening in the capital city.

The Mississippi State Fair, held at the state fairgrounds in Jackson since 1858, saw approximately 506,952 people pass through the gates last year. The total economic impact was roughly $31 million, making it one of the largest economic drivers in the city. And more importantly, no major incidents were reported, as an uptick in law enforcement at the event has inarguably made the state fair safer.
