A man was struck by a vehicle and killed on I-55 in Jackson on Memorial Day.
According to a report from the Jackson Police Department, officers were dispatched to I-55 near Beasley Road on Monday just before noon. At the scene, authorities found a Black male lying in the median and debris from the vehicle that allegedly struck the man.
JPD’s mobile crime unit did not report whether or not this is a hit-and-run situation.
No arrests have been made at this time. Officials are withholding the identification of the victim until his next of kin are notified.
